Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has called for talks on Ukraine and expressed Brazil’s willingness to assist in resolving the conflict, a Sputnik correspondent reported on Monday. Putin "knows what he wants," and so does Ukraine's Zelensky, thus, it is "a matter of bringing this to the negotiating table," the Brazilian top official noted.On August 15, Putin and Trump met in Alaska to discuss ways to resolve the Ukraine conflict. Both leaders described the meeting as positive. Following the summit, the Russian president said that it was possible to reach an end to the conflict in Ukraine and emphasized Russia's interest in a long-term settlement.

KUALA LUMPUR (Sputnik) - Vladimir Putin, during the top-level summit in Alaska, confirmed his readiness to work toward resolving the Ukrainian conflict based on the concept proposed by the United States, Sergey Lavrov said on Sunday.
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has called for talks on Ukraine and expressed Brazil’s willingness to assist in resolving the conflict, a Sputnik correspondent reported on Monday.
"I have not told [Trump] yet, but I will soon: I believe we can help bring the conflict in Ukraine to an end. In my view, the situation has already matured," Lula said on the sidelines of the ASEAN summit in Malaysia.
