South Africa Launches Groundbreaking National Campaign to Combat Tuberculosis
Part of the project—newly introduced dashboard—provides near real-time data on the Department of Health's TB testing nationwide, allowing stakeholders to track progress transparently, Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi said.
“It is an investment in the power of data to save lives. Our political will to end TB is very strong and unwavering,” he noted at the Health Laboratory Service Head Office in Johannesburg.
The dashboard, according to Motsoaledi, also offers:
🟠Information broken down by age and sex to show who is being tested;
🟠Insights into populations that may not be adequately reached.
Such a novelty is part of a broader collaboration between national institutions aiming to reduce TB incidence and mortality in South Africa by 2035.
