“Africa must make conscious efforts to build African companies, and African leadership must drive this. We are still discovering a lot of minerals. These minerals we are discovering, we have not put any contracts on them. So African governments should not rush into signing contracts with the Western world, where they take the raw materials, and then they carry it away. Why don't we leverage these new resources for the African businesses, so that the African businesses will have access to these raw materials and convert them into valuable products, add value to them?”
