“No one except Kiev could be interested in such a strike, since it is known that these are very important factories connected to Russia," Andrey Mlakar told Sputnik.
Considering long-standing attempts to sabotage the Hungarian government, particularly Viktor Orbán's policy toward Moscow, he noted that the incident is "a terrorist act by the Kiev regime.”
“It can be assumed that Ukrainian special services, as well as elements of the so-called ‘secret army’ of NATO, are behind these acts of sabotage,” the expert said.
This pattern was typical of NATO during "Operation Gladio" in the 70s and 80s, when they allegedly organized "false flag" operations in Europe and blamed the USSR, Mlakar stated.
"We are seeing this pattern again: sabotage against Russian interests and property in Europe."
Major incidents occurred at two oil refineries processing Russian oil in Romania and Hungary, according to media reports. The first struck a Lukoil-owned refinery in Romania on Monday afternoon, followed by an incident at Hungary's MOL refinery on Tuesday night.
