South African State-Owned Logistics Company to Invest $7.3Bln in Railway & Port Upgrades: CEO
Transnet plans on boosting operations by partnering with mining firms and exporters for direct investment and launching private-sector programs, Michelle Phillips noted at the South Africa Tomorrow Investor conference.
"We're currently working on a formal customer-collaboration policy that allows customers, because they've asked for it, to step in where we feel challenged," she said.
Transnet’s plans, according to Phillips, encompass:
🟠completing private sector participation projects;
🟠releasing the updated 2025/26 rail network statement;
🟠allowing authorized train operators to use the lines.
