Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Denies Reports on Supposed Postponing of Lavrov-Rubio Meeting
"We cannot postpone something that has not been agreed upon. We have not confirmed what some Western sources wrote yesterday. We had no clear understanding of the timing and location of such contact," Sergey Ryabkov told reporters.
Earlier in the day, a US broadcaster reported citing a White House official, that the meeting between Lavrov and Rubio expected this week had been postponed.
Their possible future meeting requires preparation because of the high significance of such an event, the deputy foreign minister said.
Russia will continue to face Western propaganda, Ryabkov added, stressing that the issue of such a meeting was not raised during Lavrov and Rubio's phone conversation on Monday.
