Russia, Ukraine Should Stop at Current Front Line, Trump Reiterates

The parties to the conflict can negotiate other possible terms later, the US president told reporters, adding that "78% of the land is already taken by Russia."

Trump pointed out that he did not discuss Ukraine ceding all the Donbass region to Russia.

During a Friday meeting, Trump pushed Zelensky to give up swaths of territory to Moscow, a British media outlet reported on Monday, citing people familiar with the discussion.

"The meeting ended with [Trump's] decision to make a 'deal where we are, on the demarcation line,'" a source told the outlet.

The special military operation in Ukraine aims to "protect people subjected to the Kiev regime's genocide," with an ultimate goal of completely liberating Donbass and creating conditions that guarantee Russia's security, according to Moscow.
