"Sterlitamak’s Avangard, where a serious emergency occurred yesterday, is an enterprise with special working conditions. It deals with explosive substances. As a result of a rather powerful explosion, one of the buildings was destroyed ... Unfortunately, three people died, all women," Khabirov said on Telegram, adding that rescuers freed all the victims from the rubble after the explosion. The factory will provide assistance to the families of the deceased, Khabirov said, adding that five people are in the hospital, with no threat to their lives. Khabirov also refuted claims that the cause of the incident at the plant was a drone attack. He added that the factory is quite old, however fulfills an important state task, saying that no matter what "the enterprise will continue to produce extremely necessary and in-demand products" for Russia.
