‘They Are Afraid of a Genuine Revolution’: Nigerien Perspective on Madagascar and Cameroon’s Turmoil

"The problem in Madagascar is the issue of poverty. There is a problem with the distribution of electricity, drinking water, and healthcare," Issoufou Boubacar Kado Magagi told Sputnik Africa.

The African Union remains cautious: a few principled statements, but little concrete action, he noted.

"France rushed to evacuate" President Rajoelina, allegedly for his safety. But "in reality, they are afraid of a genuine revolution. It’s a revolution they have tried to control," the expert asserted.

According to him, "people close to France will take power there."

In Cameroon, the post-electoral situation continues to divide.

"The youth are demanding qualitative change," the Nigerien emphasized.

A common spirit runs through these two nations: that of a generation rejecting stagnation and demanding its share of the future, Magagi seemed to suggest.
