On the occasion of World Bread Day, Sputnik Africa analyzed open-source data to rank countries based on the prices of a 500g wheat bread loaf.
The top 5 countries with the most expensive bread:
Djibouti: $9.53
Bermuda: $8.61
Cayman Islands: $6.36
Monaco: $5.37
Bahamas: approximately $5.26
The top 5 countries with the cheapest bread:
Chad: $0.36
Uzbekistan: $0.40
Kyrgyzstan: nearly $0.43
Kazakhstan: $0.44
Azerbaijan: $0.46
On average, the product costs about $1.76 globally.
