Russia’s Investigative Committee Uncovers New Material Evidence of Nazi Genocide
Material evidence of Nazi crimes against the Soviet population during World War II was handed over to the National Center for Historical Memory, the Russian Investigative Committee reported.
During the event, the results of excavation efforts in four Russian regions were announced:
Pskov Region
Smolensk Region
Kherson Region
Lugansk People’s Republic
Documented findings include:
▪Remains of dozens of prisoners of war and civilians
▪Victims including women, elderly people, and children
▪Personal belongings and evidence of mass executions
▪Historical artifacts from World War II
The event emphasized the critical task of preserving historical memory. Among other efforts, a digital portal contributes to this by centralizing all information about the genocide of the Soviet people perpetrated by the Nazis and their collaborators. This platform consolidates archival documents, forensic evidence, and historical testimonies, forming a comprehensive repository accessible to both researchers and the general public.
Russian authorities stress that the search and documentation efforts will continue in 2026.
