Cape Town & Marrakech Rank Among 20 Happiest Cities in World
Time Out magazine's ranking, based on a survey of 18,000 city dwellers, placed Cape Town in the third place and Marrakech in the 15th.
The South African and Moroccan cities stand out in this top 20 due to criteria such as:
🟠sense of belonging to a neighborhood,
🟠presence of green spaces,
🟠access to art and culture,
🟠beauty of the surroundings,
🟠nightlife, gastronomy, ease of travel,
🟠affordability,
🟠quality of life.
Happiness was measured using five statements, assessing whether the city makes its residents happy, offers joyful daily experiences, and whether the sense of happiness has recently increased.
The South African coastal city has 97% of residents reporting that their city makes them happy, while Abu Dhabi leads the ranking with 99% resident satisfaction.
