Madagascar's President, Who Fled Country Amid Protests, Refuses to Resign: Reports
On Monday, Andry Rajoelina reportedly made an address in which he stated that he had to flee to safety to protect his life.
"A diplomatic source said after the address that Rajoelina refuses to resign," Western media reported.
Rajoelina, whose whereabouts are unknown, held a remote meeting with his cabinet on Monday morning, during which he declared himself capable of governing the country, media reported. He reportedly held consultations with several other African leaders over the weekend to secure their support.
