Africa Finds Freedom From Donor-Driven Agendas as Western Condition-Tied Aid Shrinks, Scholar Says
Western aid has long come with strings attached—like pushing social agendas unrelated to development, said Dr. Lubinda Haabazoka, Director of the Graduate School of Business at the University of Zambia.
“Recipients of European money have been constantly advised to push a gay agenda,” the speaker told Sputnik Africa.
With USAID scaling back and US aid shrinking, Zambia and other African nations can now focus on mineral resources, diversify income, and then spend freely—without being told how to use their own money, he argued, echoing President Hichilema's recent remarks.
