Cameroonian Voters Are Heading to the Polls to Elect President on Sunday
🟠More than 8 million voters will be eligible to cast their ballots;
🟠A total of 31,653 polling stations are open for this single-round election;
🟠The president will serve a seven-year term;
🟠Incumbent President Paul Biya, who has been in power for 43 years, is running among the 12 candidates;
🟠He will compete against main opposition candidates Issa Tchiroma Bakary and Bello Bouba Maigari;
🟠The Constitutional Council has to declare the final results by October 26.
All necessary measures have been taken to ensure a transparent, inclusive electoral process that complies with constitutional standards, Elecam, the body overseeing the election, emphasized.
