Tensions Erupt in Abidjan as Opposition Defies March Ban: Correspondent
Activists from the PDCI-RDA and PPA-CI parties held their march despite a prefectural ban, a Sputnik Africa correspondent reported.
The demonstrators were met with tear gas and clashes with security forces—the atmosphere was electric.

"We are here today at the march organized by the Ivorian opposition to show our frustration and outrage over this electoral farce," Eric Oubri, president of the dynamic youth movement of the PDCI-RDA.
"Let us freely express our votes, because the silent majority is being hunted," he told Sputnik Africa.
