Ethiopia Launches Affordable, Eco-Friendly Rural Housing in Four Regions
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed unveiled new model homes in the Hadiya and Siltie zones—part of a nationwide rural housing initiative that began in Halaba and Kembata.
Each homestead includes:
🟠 A three-bedroom house;
🟠 Biogas facilities for cooking;
🟠 Solar energy systems;
🟠 Chicken coops;
🟠 Separate cattle sheds.
Designed with local materials and low-cost construction, the project aims to improve living standards in Ethiopia’s countryside, the prime minister said on social media.
Now active in four zones across southern Ethiopia.
