Macron Reportedly Renames Lecornu as PM Again
This decision follows just days after Lecornu became France's shortest-serving PM, having resigned after only 27 days, surpassing Michel Barnier's 90-day record.
Lecornu is also Macron's fourth prime minister since January 2024, reflecting significant political instability. His appointment was unpopular from the beginning, with approval ratings at just 32%. Seven out of ten French citizens were disappointed, and 68% doubted his ability to form a government that could fulfill public expectations.
Local media reports suggest that his prospects of securing parliamentary approval for the 2026 budget remain low due to existing divisions.
