Burkina Faso Aims to Keep Major Companies Rooted in Country, Official Says
A bill was just approved in the Council of Ministers to strengthen "the anchoring of companies in the country," government spokesman Pingdwendé Gilbert Ouédraogo noted.
"Companies with an average turnover of 5 billion CFA francs [$8.8 million] over the past three years will be required to build their headquarters in Burkina Faso," he told reporters.
To encourage businesses, several measures are planned:
🟠Tax benefits on construction materials;
🟠Six months to submit their establishment project;
🟠Fast-track building permit issuance.
The bill will be examined by the transitional legislative assembly.
