Westerners 'Want African Population to Be Blinded': Malian Journalist
Westerners "interfere in the foreign affairs of other countries, especially Africans," Moulaye Haidara told Sputnik Africa, commenting on the Burkinabe president's recent call to turn away from Western media.
"This is something that cannot continue to evolve if we truly want our sovereignty and independence," the journalist added.
Haidara accused Western media of manipulation, noting that they spread false information to conceal Western influence through "servants" within Africa.
His proposed solutions for stronger information sovereignty include:
🟠Requiring media outlets to have local shareholders who respect national laws;
🟠Imposing fines, prison sentences, or suspensions for spreading false information;
🟠Prioritizing domestic channels to counter Western influence.
