"We need to ensure that trade becomes an integral part of reuniting and also enriching our two entities in Africa and in the Caribbean," Denzil Douglas, Foreign Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Saint Kitts and Nevis, told Sputnik Africa.
He emphasized the need for increased collaboration, proposing student exchange programs between African and Caribbean universities to foster mutual learning and academic success.
The minister urged a committed effort to dismantle the racially biased narrative by fostering strong communication between the Caribbean and Africa, along with investment in the arts and literature.
"We have to make sure that our kids at a very, very, early age are allowed to realize the importance of literacy, work and the importance of associations and assimilation that will change this notion that black is bad, Africa is dark and only those of a particular color are leaders. That has to change and we must change it beginning now. "
