Rabbit Farming Goes Professional in Zimbabwe: ZICORBA Unveils National Register
The Zimbabwe Commercial Rabbit Breeders Association (ZICORBA) will soon roll out the country’s first-ever National Rabbit Breeders Register to certify legitimate farmers and streamline the rapidly growing industry, state media reported.
According to ZICORBA, the register will:
🟠 eliminate unregistered operators;
🟠 protect consumers;
🟠 serve as a reference for buyers, investors, and regulator.
Certified breeders will gain better access to markets, financing, and partnerships with hotels, supermarkets, and exporters.
The initiative will also help:
🟠 monitor breeding practices;
🟠 curb diseases;
🟠 improve the quality of rabbit meat, strengthening Zimbabwe’s standing in Africa’s rabbit industry.
