Troops Foil Bandit Attacks, Recover Weapons in Nigeria
Troops of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) thwarted planned bandit attacks in Katsina-Ala, Benue State, during operations between September 26–28, 2025, according to OPWS authorities.
Recovered items included:
🟠 firearms;
🟠 ammunition;
🟠 magazines;
🟠 a hand grenade;
🟠 tear gas canister;
🟠 medical kits;
🟠 30 mobile phones.
Force Commander Major General Moses Gara praised the troops’ swift action, stressing their commitment to restoring peace in Benue and neighboring states.
He urged also residents to keep providing timely intelligence to support security efforts.
🪖 Launched in 2018, OPWS combines the military, police, and DSS in the fight against armed groups.
