Africa Demands Justice & Its Corollary — Reparations, Togo's FM SaysThe UN must classify the transatlantic slave trade, colonization, slavery, and deportation not only as crimes against humanity but, above all, as "genocide" against African peoples, Robert Komlan Edo Dussey declared.The foreign minister repeated the word "genocide" five times during his address."Africa demands justice because, as has been said, there exists a unique and unprecedented moral debt toward African peoples which has not yet been paid." Furthermore, the UN must support the "Correct the MAP" campaign, which aims to restore Africa’s true geographical dimensions on world maps, he said, stressing that "Geography must be decolonized."
