New Defense Agreement Between Kenya & Ethiopia Embodies African Self-Reliance, Kenyan Forces Chief Says
Building stronger defense ties between the armed forces is an investment in innovation, sustainable infrastructure, and industrial development, General Charles Kahariri noted.
Kahariri and the Chief of the Ethiopian National Defense Forces, Field Marshall Birhanu Jula signed the agreement in Addis Ababa, according to Kenya's Defense Ministry.
The deal also:
🟠creates a framework for efficient and timely collaboration against security threats;
🟠 advances joint training;
🟠strengthens rapid intelligence sharing;
🟠improves interoperability
Such agreement emphasizes the enduring relationship between the two nations, founded on shared borders, history, and common challenges, and highlights how their cooperation will advance stability and prosperity across the region, Jula stated.
