Malian President Outlines Strategy for a Prosperous Future
"The ideals of the nation’s founding fathers continue to serve as my compass," Assimi Goita declared in a national address marking Mali’s 65th Independence Day.
He further reaffirmed the importance of building an "autonomous army capable of ensuring the sovereign defense of the national territory."
Goita also stressed the need to:
🟠 sustain growth despite challenges;
🟠 intensify the fight against terrorism;
🟠 diversify partnerships while strengthening diplomatic sovereignty;
🟠 advance economic and social reforms.
The president further pointed to key initiatives, including:
🟠 the adoption of a new Mining Code;
🟠 a gold refinery project with Russia to increase local value addition;
🟠 new solar power projects in Safo with China, in Sanankoroba with Russia, and in Tiakadougou-Dialakoro with the UAE.
