Major Housing Project Nearing Completion in Zimbabwe
Over 3,000 serviced residences are almost ready at the revived Knockmalloch housing project in Chegutu, led by state-owned Urban Development Corporation (UDCORP), state media reported.
The project, described as "self-contained town," will include residential, commercial, and institutional stands.
According to UDCORP CEO Joey Shumbamhini, the high-density segment is already 85% complete. In total, the project will deliver 2,930 residential and 178 non-residential buildings.
Nationwide, housing delivery has surpassed 70% of the revised one million-unit target under the National Development Strategy 1—well above the original 220,000-unit goal, the media noted.
