Russia is ready to continue adhering to the limitations in accordance with the New START Treaty for one year after February 5, 2026, says Putin

A complete rejection of the legacy of the New START Treaty would be a mistake and would negatively affect the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, he added.

The expiration of the New START Treaty in 2026 will mean the disappearance of the last agreement with direct limits on missile potential.
