Africa Wants Platforms Where the Continent is Respected: Professor

Africa seeks to operate as an equal partner, showcasing its own innovation while learning from others to contribute to global knowledge, Egara Kabaji, president of the Creative Writers Association of Kenya, told Sputnik Africa.

"The key word here is that Africa is no longer that 'dark' continent. We are equal participants in the search for knowledge, in the search for development," he stated on the sidelines of the World Public Assembly in Moscow.

The continent is shifting away from aid and handouts; instead, it is seeking collaboration and partnerships with other countries, Kabaji emphasized.

"This assembly is very important because it brings people together to discuss education, cultural exchange, creating harmony in the whole world, and just exchanging ideas, exchanging views for the sake of improving humanity," he noted.
