Russia’s Army Just Got Powerful New Air Defense Upgrade — Rostec Delivers Pantsir-SMD Systems
Besides the anti-aircraft gun-missile system Pantsir-SMD batch, Russia's state industrial corporation Rostec also delivered combat vehicles of the Pantsir-S air defense missile-gun system.
Here’s what makes the new Pantsir-SMD special:
🟠Can carry up to 48 mini-missiles in its launcher;
🟠Total ammo can be adjusted — mix of standard missiles and mini-missiles;
🟠Proven in combat — has repeatedly detected and destroyed complex aerial targets;
🟠Fully tested and officially accepted by military inspectors.
"Pantsir systems are highly effective in protecting Russia’s skies," Bekkhan Ozdoev, Rostec weapons cluster director, noted.
