Malawi Electoral Commission Confirms Full Retrieval of Election Materials, Stresses Official Results Only All 2025 general election materials had been successfully recovered from polling stations across the country by Thursday morning, MEC Chairperson Justice Annabel Mtalimanja announced.Only verified results, starting with presidential outcomes, will be released, adhering strictly to electoral law, she told reporters. “There will be no release of unofficial or preliminary results,” Mtalimanja stressed, noting that the MEC will use both manual and electronic processes to verify results. The commission also reminded the public about the official complaint procedures and warned against using social media for grievances.
