Burkina Faso reaffirmed the gold sector’s central role in national revenue in 2024, said the secretary-general of the country’s Ministry of Mines.
In 2024, Burkina Faso produced approximately 60.8 tonnes of gold — up from 56.8 tonnes in 2023 and 57.6 tonnes in 2022 — with the vast majority exported, according to Doulaye Sanou, Secretary-General of Burkina Faso’s Ministry of Mines.
