Italian Court Orders Extradition of Ukrainian Nord Stream Suspect to Germany: Document
The defendant in the Nord Stream gas pipeline explosion case, Ukrainian citizen Serhii Kuznetsov, will be held in a prison with a “closed detention” regime if extradited to Germany.
He will not be isolated, and his personal space will exceed international minimum standards, according to the Bologna court’s extradition order seen by Sputnik.
According to his lawyer, Nicola Canestrini, who spoke to Sputnik, the court rejected all defense objections, including claims of military immunity.
ℹ Explosions severely damaged the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines on September 26, 2022. Investigators in Germany, Denmark, and Sweden have indicated sabotage, while Russia launched a case of international terrorism.
Moscow has repeatedly complained about being denied access to investigation data. Russian officials, including UN envoy Vassily Nebenzia, state that the US and UK are obstructing an independent international probe.
