In South Africa, Zulu King Challenges His Offender to Duel With Fighting Sticks: Reports
Misuzulu KaZwelithini challenged Professor Musa Xulu to a duel after he accused the monarch of extravagance and the building of a new palace in uPhongolo in KwaZulu-Natal province in south-eastern South Africa, local media reported.
“It pains me to see another man telling me how to do my job. Does he know what it takes to be in this position? You don’t go to school to be in here,” KaZwelithini said.
The Zulu fighting stick was widely used by Zulu warriors. It is now used as a royal ceremonial object and for punishing offenders.
A new royal palace was built in uPhongolo by decision of KaZwelithini. The old palace in Enyokeni, also in KwaZulu-Natal, was recently rebuilt.
