Zimbabwe's Fuel Market Liberalization Boosted Fuel Market Growth, Authority Says
As expansion continued, fuel stations were largely concentrated in urban areas, leaving rural zones behind, Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) said.
To ensure proper allocation, the government has adopted а new standard for establishing containerized, portable, low-cost fuel retail stations, ZERA noted.
These modular stations, according to ZERA, will:
offer a cheaper alternative to traditional fuel infrastructure;
provide access to fuel across the country;
support local economic development;
aid agriculture, small mining, and cottage industries;
enhance rural social services.
