Zimbabwe’s $1.2 Billion Tourism Revenues Propel Sector's Growth, Minister Says
In 2024, Zimbabwe welcomed over 1.6 million international arrivals and gained a total of $190 million investment in the sphere, Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister Barbara Rwodzi noted.
“We are deepening Public-Private Partnerships, de-risking projects, and ensuring that investments are protected and profitable,” she stressed.
The travel industry became one of the key elements in the country’s economic revival strategy, with the sector's growth driven by better marketing, enhanced air connectivity, peace, and stability, Rwodzi said.
The government highlighted its readiness to work with new tourism sector financing outlets, so it will help:
protect environment;
uplift communities;
drive Zimbabwe towards an upper-middle economy by 2030.
