Ethiopian Airlines Plans to Finish Bishoftu Airport in Five Years, Aiming to Launch International Flights by 2030: CEO
Preparations to begin construction in the 2018 Ethiopian fiscal year are complete, Ethiopian Airlines CEO Mesfin Tasew said.
The relocation of farmers from the project site is underway, with new housing nearing completion, and the airline is currently seeking construction financing, he noted.
According to the CEO, the airport will feature a modern terminal, ranking it among the world's major airports.
Regarding future plans, Mesfin said the airline's "Vision 2035" has been revised to "Vision 2040," with a new plan to be unveiled soon.
