Mohamed Ali Nafti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad and Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran held talks in Tunisia, its Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The talks addressed developments in the Middle East among other issues, according to the statement.
Nafti welcomed Iran's reaching an agreement to resume its collaboration with the International Atomic Energy Agency, following talks held by the Iranian Foreign Minister on September 9 with the Director General of the Agency, in the hope that this agreement will help reduce tensions in the region and contain crises through dialogue and diplomatic means, it added.
The two ministers stressed the importance of continuous consultation between them in various Islamic and UN frameworks, in order to support the pillars of security and stability in the region and contribute to the defense of just causes, foremost among which is the Palestinian cause, the ministry noted.
"The two sides stressed the need to stop the brutal aggression against the brotherly Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and throughout the Palestinian territories, to put an end to their suffering, to enable them to obtain humanitarian aid without restrictions or conditions, and to support their just cause in order to restore their full historical rights and establish their independent State on their entire territory," the statement read.
