Nigeria Aims to Boost Industrial Contribution to GDP From 10% to 25% by 2035, Says Minister

This initiative is part of the government's new strategic framework that aims to transform Nigeria's economy from resource-based to more productive, competitive, and innovative, according to Minister of State for Industry Sen. John Owan.

"Nigeria is ready. Africa is the new frontier, and we are reforming to meet global expectations," Owan was quoted as saying by the State News Agency of Nigeria while speaking at the Gastech Exhibition and Conference in Milan, Italy. "There is no better time in our history than now. Nigeria is open and ready for business."

The minister highlighted the plan as a significant achievement of the Tinubu administration. He lauded the president's reformist agenda, including the removal of petrol subsidies and harmonization of exchange rates, which have helped stabilize the economy.

Nigeria is also focusing on its vast natural gas reserves, with plans to optimize development and position the country as a sustainable global supplier, Owan noted.
