France's Chief Looter Picks a Loyal PM — And He Won't Stop Country's Freefall, Essayist Warns

New Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu risks running headlong into a "social wall," geopolitical analyst François Martin told Sputnik Africa.

"The only person who could change things would be a president worthy of the name, who would limit social fracture and prevent the powerful from looting the country. But since Macron himself is the chief of the looters, there is no reason for anything to change," he explained.

Moreover, when it comes to the Ukrainian conflict, the newly appointed PM follows in Macron's footsteps, the speaker noted.

"He has called for an increase in military aid, which corresponds to his president's crazy and stupid proposal, who seeks to militarize matters. Since his popularity rating is extremely low, he needs to find himself an enemy. That enemy is Russia," Martin stated.
