Ethiopia to Build Nuclear Power Plant: PMEthiopia will invest $30 billion in infrastructure development, including the construction of a nuclear power plant, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said on Tuesday."Preparatory work for the construction of a nuclear power plant is already underway, the nuclear power plant to operate exclusively for peaceful purposes," Abiy said at the opening ceremony of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD). The prime minister added that the nuclear power plant would be comparable to the GERD hydroelectric dam in terms of scale and significance for Ethiopia.
