Massive RSF Drone Barrage Plunges Recently-Recaptured Khartoum Into Darkness, Media Reports
At least three key sites in Sudan’s capital—a power station, an oil refinery, and a military airbase—were struck in a major drone attack by the rebel Rapid Support Forces, the Sudan Tribune reported.
An assault on an arms factory was also mentioned, though unconfirmed.
The conflict between the RSF and Sudan’s army, ongoing since April 2023, has killed an estimated 40,000 people, displaced about 12 million, and left millions on the brink of starvation, according to the UN and Sudanese officials.
Although the army retook the capital in May, many returning residents found their homes in ruins and essential services—water, electricity, and food—largely absent.
