Senegal Unveils New Cabinet: Key Diplomatic & Legal Figures Take Prominent Roles
A cabinet reshuffle in Senegal has resulted in a new government comprised of 25 ministers and six secretaries of state, according to a press release from the presidency.
Key appointments include:
🟠Cheikh Niang, former ambassador to the UN in New York, as Minister of Foreign Affairs;
🟠Yassine Fall, previously in the diplomatic service, as head of the Ministry of Justice;
🟠Mouhamadou Bamba Cissé, lawyer to Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, as Minister of the Interior.
Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko retains his duties and remains responsible for government coordination.
While several ministers maintain their previous roles, new figures from Parliament and civil society are joining the government.
