Tanzania Tourism Earnings Rise, Driven by International Visitors
The earnings from national parks and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area increased by 10.3% to $67 million year-on-year in March. The Consolidated Zonal Economic Performance Report revealed a 5.5% increase in visitors to Tanzania's parks and Ngorongoro, reaching 538,147, with non-resident tourists accounting for 70%.
Northern Zone (Serengeti, Kilimanjaro):

Lake Zone:
🟠Visitors: Decreased by 18.3%
🟠Revenue: Increased by 10.8% (driven by higher non-resident fees)

🟠Visitors: Increased by 43%
🟠Revenue: Increased by 43.4%
🟠Showed significant growth
Southern Highlands & South-Eastern Zones:
🟠Both experienced declines in visitors and earnings
Analysts attribute the overall growth to promotional efforts by the government and private sector, strengthening Tanzania's appeal as a global safari destination. The report also indicated a stable number of resident visitors (164,433) but an 8.3% increase in non-resident arrivals (373,714), underscoring the continued importance of international tourism.
