RSF Commits Crimes Against Humanity in El-Fasher, Sudan: UN Mission
According to the chair of the fact-finding mission, Mohamed Chande Othman, the RSF's actions included:
🟠mass killings,
🟠sexual violence,
🟠looting,
🟠destruction, which in some cases amounted to persecution and extermination.
The UN team tasked with investigating abuses based its report on over 200 interviews, video evidence, and submissions from civil organizations. Hundreds of thousands remain besieged in El-Fasher, the Sudanese army’s last stronghold in North Darfur and the frontline of the ongoing conflict.
The 18-page report, “A War of Atrocities,” also accused the RSF and its allies of weaponizing starvation by denying civilians essential food and medical aid.
