Tourism Expected to Bring Uganda $50 Bln in Revenue by 2035
The assistance of the nation's ambassadors and foreign missions in introducing the country as a premier travel destination is needed to achieve 25-fold tourism growth the following decade, according to Juliana Kagwa, Chief Executive Officer of the Uganda Tourism Board.
1.3 million foreigners visit the country annually, she noted, adding that the number can be increased to at least 3 million in the future through active promotion of:
🟠cultural heritage,
🟠sports,
🟠industries,
🟠adventure experience.
"Uganda is more than wildlife. By the way, we are the only country that still recognizes its kings and cultural leaders. Promote this beautiful country to the world," Kagwa stressed.
Tourism sector novelties will rely heavily on the “blue economy,” attracting investment potential focusing on promising ventures such as:
🟠marine activities,
🟠water sports,
🟠sunset sightseeing cruises.
Diplomats get a special training program to sell, promote, and secure deals effectively, following the growth goals set in the National Development Plan IV, according to Vincent Bagire, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
