Ghana Could Follow Russia’s Lead in Agricultural Tech by Sending Students to Study There, MP Says
If Ghanaian agriculture officials were trained in Russia, they would directly experience advanced farming technologies and could bring them back home, said Zuwera Ibrahimah after visiting the State Agricultural University in Novosibirsk, Russia.
While 60% of Ghanaians are engaged in agriculture and still practice subsistence agriculture, using cutting-edge technology would revolutionize this sector, she noted.
"Ghana is blessed with vast lands that can be industrialized for food sufficiency and exports," she told Sputnik Africa, stressing the need for a shift from traditional farming to large-scale industrial agriculture.
