AfCFTA and Ghana Unveil Plans for 'Creatives Connect Afrika' Festival to Boost Cultural Trade
The inaugural Creatives Connect Afrika Forum & Festival, a collaboration between the African Continental Free Trade Area, the Ghanaian government, and Africa Tourism Partners, is set to take place from November 25 to 28 in Accra.
The event aims to strengthen Africa's creative industries, including fashion, film, and music, by connecting artists and entrepreneurs with investors, markets, and cross-border trade opportunities within the AfCFTA framework, organizers said.
Activities will include:
🟠pitch sessions;
🟠policy forums;
🟠fashion showcases;
🟠film screenings;
🟠concerts.
"It is about unlocking the full economic potential of Africa’s people, including those in the creative and cultural sectors. Film, music, and fashion are global industries where Africa already has a strong voice," said Emily Mburu-Ndoria of the AfCFTA Secretariat at the launch event.
