New Horror Unfolds in Kenya With Suspected Cult Victims Found in Village Graves
🪦On Thursday, police unearthed seven more bodies and recovered 54 disarticulated human remains in Kwa Binzaro village. This brings the confirmed death toll to 12 and sparks fears of a fresh massacre.
◻The remains are significantly fresher than those found earlier this month, suggesting recent burials. Unlike the fully five skeletonized bodies exhumed on August 21, these appear to have been buried just weeks or months ago, the government pathologist Richard Njoroge noted.
The grim find is a chilling reminder of the 2023 Shakahola forest tragedy, where over 400 followers of the Good News International Church, led by Pastor Paul Mackenzie, died in a mass cult-related incident from starvation, suffocation, and violence.
Authorities are now urging families with missing relatives to help identify the deceased by providing DNA samples and personal details at Malindi District Hospital.
