Niger Launches Four Flagship Programs for Sustainable Transformation
The West African country will invest $1.84 billion to improve the lives of 6.5 million people as part of an ambitious development plan supported by the UN.
Socioeconomic governance:
Digitization of services, transparency, and mobilization of local resources.
Food sovereignty:
Rehabilitation of 300,000 hectares of land to reduce malnutrition and dependence on humanitarian aid.
Education and training:
Improved access for two million children and literacy training for 30,000 out-of-school girls.
Youth and employment:
Training 500,000 young people and creating 750,000 jobs through SMEs and local value chains.
